i'm so tempted to give you the lectures about contact i&r and proper sun protection, but i can't bring myself to do it off the job. however i can reccomend a good optical chain that will fix your glasses for free (if they can be fixed that is)

Thanks, but I've been informed they are pretty much broken :( As soon as I can afford it, I will be getting new ones :D

aghh D: I could never put in contacts. nevernever

It's secretly part of the reason I refuse to see about getting glasses. >_>

I want contacts so bad, but I'd have to get them specially made for my eyes (which is uber expensive), I'm super squeamish about things getting near my eyes, and my family has a long line of being allergic to contacts :C

I've had contacts since I was in high school. I used to fight with them for half an hour or so to get them in, so I can understand. However, with practice, you'll get it. Try looking up when you do it, and always put a fresh drop of solution each time you fail.

I wore glasses from age 5(ish) to age 13, when I got contacts. I wore contacts until 18, when I had eye surgery (lamellar keratotomy, this was pre-lasik).

I hated glasses. So much hate. However, my vision was truly horrific- I bordered on legal blindness. Nowadays, 20 years post-surgery, my vision is no longer 20/20... but I don't wear glasses unless I feel I have to have perfect vision, which isn't often. Even with the 20/40ish or whatever I have now, I can still SEE, and it's glorious.

And I can still touch my cornea with my finger; I'm not bothered at all by it, even though I haven't had to in many, many years! I can still remember the early days of the contacts, when it could take me a half hour to get them in, though. Oof.

Lol, i got contacts when i was 16, I went in for the test thing and put them in my first try lol, never had a problem with them unless you count losing them at any large open source of water lol (including but not limited to: water parks, beach, pool, shower, ponds, ect...)

A few years ago, I tried contacts. Damn thing got stuck in the corner of my eye and I spent a few hours digging it out. So I went back to glasses.

Later, when everyone at school had aviator sunglasses, I decided I wanted a pair, but didn't want to deal with wearing my glasses underneath them, or worse, switch to contacts again. So I spent $330 on a pair of prescription Raybans. (And they were on sale, mind you) Best investment I ever made.

And, as a bonus, I don't gotta worry about people stealing them, because nobody can see through them but me! Yay, Coke-Bottle aviators!

My eye sight is pretty bad as well, If I didn't buy the super thin lenses, I'd be wearing Coke Bottles as well. That's why I love my contacts. Everything looks so warped and larger than life when I put my glasses on for a few days to give my eyes a chance to breath, but it's worth it.
