There's a sad irony about Husband losing his hat on the SPX road trip. In Husband's comic Pictures of You, not long before this happened, there was a character who lost his trademark hat on a road trip with his band. Life imitates art. We didn't realize the hat was left behind until we were several states away. We were very sad, except not really, because it's a hat.
Speaking of Pictures of You, it's celebrating its SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY! It's a really great comic with strong female, gay, and POC characters, and you'd probably enjoy it. If you don't read it already, why not give it a chance? Read it here: http://picturesofyoucomic.com
Poor Gibson. I was about to make a reference to Mulligan, but you beat me to it.
I disagree with a "just a hat" thing though. Hats are special, or at least, mine is to me. My great uncle gave me the brown one I wear now (he used to wear it all the time), and I worn that thing every day for the past four years (except for when I went to basic). It's unique, its special to me and everywhere I go, people ask where I got it. If it were me in Gibson's position, I'd be calling the restaurant and arranging to have it shipped. But that's just me.
